$1.8 Billion in Grant Funding Announced
Civix commends the Department of Homeland Security’s recent announcement of $1.8 billion in grant funding to support state and local preparedness efforts against natural and manmade threats. This funding will provide critical resources through the department’s Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) which consists of the State Homeland Security Program, Urban Area Security Initiative, and Operation Stonegarden, Emergency Management Performance Grant Program (EMPG), Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and additional programs for port, transit, rail, and intercity bus systems.
These funds are in addition to the $375 million provided through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) by the department last year for the State & Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP). Civix is proud to support these programs in multiple states through its EM Grants Manager software which allows state and territorial fiscal agents for these grant funds to manage projects, expenses, and awards, work with applicants collaboratively in real time within a shared single environment, and to provide the required progress reports to DHS along the way.
